About the estate

The Bioweinhof Birgit Hoch estate looks back on a long family tradition that began with the acquisition of the property by Karl Hoch in 1886 and is managed by Birgit Hoch in the fifth generation since 2020. On 3.5 hectares of vineyards around the Wetterkreuzberg in Krems an der Donau, the winery cultivates sites on conglomerate and loess soils. The cultivated grape varieties include Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Roter Veltliner, Muskateller as well as Zweigelt, Cabernet and Rösler. The biological working method includes selective manual labor, strict yield regulation and careful hand harvesting. The wines are aged predominantly dry, with white wines matured in stainless steel and red wines in barriques.

The eno directory lists 16 wines, mostly from Grüner Veltliner and Cabernet Sauvignon.
