About the estate

Around 600 winegrower families make up Winzer Krems eG Sandgrube 13, which was founded in 1938 by winemakers from the Krems and Stein winegrowers' guild. The production area of the estate is located about 70 kilometres west of Vienna, centred around the town of Krems in the Danube Valley. A large portion of the vineyards is situated on slopes and steep rocky terraces, offering optimal conditions for viticulture. As early as the 11th century, the Kremser Sandgrube vineyard was first mentioned, remaining the best-known origin for Grüner Veltliner to this day.
