About the estate

The Goseck Pfeifer & Frick estate has been cultivating a historic vineyard on the Igelsberg hill in the Saale-Unstrut wine region since 1995. On less than one hectare of steep-slope vineyards facing south on red sandstone, the varieties Dornfelder, Riesling, and Pinot Blanc are grown. The winery relies on close-to-nature management with exclusively manual labor, cover crops under the vines, and temporary grazing by sheep in the vineyard. The harvest is also done entirely by hand, followed by gentle vinification in the estate's own cellar in Goseck. Since the 2013 vintage, the entire production chain from the vine to the bottle has been in-house, creating characteristic dry to off-dry wines.

The eno directory lists 7 wines, mostly from Riesling and Pinot Blanc. The estate sells to retail.
