About the estate

The Weingut Steinauer Berg estate acquired a previously overgrown vineyard directly on the Unstrut river in the Saale-Unstrut region in 2009 and revived the tradition of winemaking there. After leaving big-city life behind, the operators redesigned the dilapidated property featuring terraced steep slopes. The historical significance of the location is reflected in the terraces, which are adorned with biblical rock reliefs from the 18th century known as the stone picture book. In their daily work, they combine history and modernity through manual labor in harmony with nature.
