Mas de la Gabinele

About the estate

The Mas de la Gabinele estate is located in Laurens in the heart of the Faugères appellation in the Languedoc region and was founded in 1998 by Thierry Rodriguez. The estate covers 20 hectares of vineyards planted on very poor schist soils with grape varieties such as Carignan, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache noir, Lledoner pellut, and Grenache gris. The climate is Mediterranean and the vineyards are surrounded by typical garrigue vegetation. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, followed by careful and gentle vinification in the modern cellar facilities. Depending on the cuvée, the wines are aged in French oak barrels for twelve to eighteen months.
