Mas de Farjou

About the estate

The Mas de Farjou estate is a historic manor farm dating back to the 16th century and serves as the ancestral home of the Jean family in Claret. The family has deep ties to this terroir at the foot of the Pic-Saint-Loup, where Louis Jean co-founded the local cru in 1955. Operating as EARL Christian-Louis Jean since 2016, the winery cultivates parcels across varying elevations up to 300 meters featuring hard limestone substrates and scree soils. The vineyards are planted with characteristic grape varieties including Carignan, Grenache Noir, Syrah, Roussanne, and Marsanne. The estate produces wines under the AOC Languedoc and AOC Pic-Saint-Loup denominations and applies environmentally friendly management practices.
