Château les Donats

About the estate

The Château les Donats estate is situated in the heart of the Bergerac vineyards in Saint Nexans, with a history tied to a former Templar establishment. Patrick Somers acquired the property in 1994, initiating its path toward producing distinctive wines from this terroir. Today, the estate spans twenty hectares of vineyards across various soil types within the AOC Bergerac and AOC Pécharmant appellations. Since 2019, the winery has been transitioning to organic farming, employing mechanical soil cultivation and spontaneous fermentations. Olivier Verhelst continues this work with a focus on respecting the local environment and reflecting the unique character of the region.
