About the estate

The Château Haut-Monplaisir estate is located in Lacapelle-Cabanac in the Sud-ouest region, managing 30 hectares of vineyards situated on the third terraces of the Cahors appellation. The vineyards benefit from an ideal southern exposure and clay-siliceous soils dominated by rolled pebbles, which impart great tannic finesse to the wines. Malbec stands at the core of production, complemented by Chardonnay, Viognier, Loin de l’œil, Vermentino, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Syrah. Driven by environmental convictions, the estate transitioned to organic farming early on, eliminating chemical weedkillers and fertilizers in favor of practices such as cover cropping. The estate distributes its wines both within France and internationally.
