About the estate

The Torelló winery in Gelida looks back on a long family tradition documented since 1395, which is currently managed by the twenty-first and twenty-second generations at the Finca de Can Martí estate. Following the phylloxera crisis, ancestors such as Marc Mir contributed to the replanting of vineyards in Penedès, before Francesc Torelló initiated the production of bottled still and sparkling wines in 1951. The estate produces white, rosé, red, and long-aged sparkling wines within the Penedès DO designation using grapes from its own vineyards. Vinification takes place in underground cellars under controlled conditions to preserve the quality and characteristics of the harvest.
