About the estate
The Sas Domaine Monastrel estate has its origins in the 1920s and was given its current name along with modernization in 2001. Located in Pouzols Minervois within the AOC Minervois appellation, the winery encompasses seven hectares of vineyards. The vines grow on limestone scree soils on the slopes of the Serre d’Oupia under a Mediterranean climate. Mourvèdre is the predominant grape variety, complemented by other traditional Mediterranean varieties and resistant new crossings. The estate produces red, rosé, and white wines.
