About the estate
The Chateau Saint Jacques d'Albas estate is situated in the Minervois, a region in the west of France's Languedoc nestled between Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi. In 2001, the team discovered the property and immediately launched an extensive renovation programme involving soil rebalancing and replanting. The operation encompasses 26 hectares of organic vines, which are protected by over 60 hectares of forest and garrigue. Viticulture and vinification follow organic protocols with limited yields and minimal intervention to allow a strong expression of the fruit. Today, the wines are available in over 20 countries.
The eno directory lists 12 wines, mostly from Grenache and Syrah. The estate sells to importers, distributors and retail. Export markets include Austria, Belgium, Czechia and Germany.
