About the estate
The Domaine Philemon estate was founded in 2003 by Mathieu Vieules on the family farm, continuing a winemaking tradition that began with his great-grandfather Philémon. Located in a preserved natural environment, the vineyards are cultivated organically and in compliance with the strict standards of Nature et Progrès. The winery focuses entirely on historical and forgotten grape varieties of the AOC Gaillac, including Braucol, Duras, Prunelart, Loin de l’Oeil, Ondenc, and Mauzac Rose. The vines are traditionally trained in gobelet, and the grapes are harvested by hand before being vinified as single-varietal wines. In the cellar, production proceeds without chemical or oenological additives, using only minimal sulfur additions prior to bottling.
The eno directory lists 12 wines, mostly from Duras and Prunelart.
