The Domaine de la Higuere estate is located in the heart of Gascony in Mirepoix, occupying a historic building that has belonged to the Esquiro family for generations. The vineyards are planted directly around the property on clay-limestone soils and boulbènes, benefiting from a mild and humid climate with oceanic influence. The estate cultivates a diverse range of grape varieties including Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Muscat, Colombard, Gros Manseng, and Alicante. Production covers red, rosé, and white wines, with all red wines undergoing aging in oak barrels. The family played a pioneering role in bottling and marketing wine under the regional designation from its early days.
