About the estate

The Château Balsamine estate is located on the first slopes of Gaillac and represents a multi-generational winemaking tradition, with Christelle and Christophe Merle establishing the winery in 2006. Spanning 15 hectares of deep clay-limestone soils, the vineyards are farmed using sustainable methods aimed at reducing chemical inputs and controlling yields. Viticultural practices include grassing between rows, manual leaf thinning, and green harvesting to ensure optimal grape maturity. In the cellar, vinification is carried out separately for each variety using temperature-controlled concrete or stainless-steel vats, as well as barrels. The resulting wines from the AOC Gaillac appellation reflect the regional character and the authenticity of the terroir.
