Casale Certosa

About the estate

The Casale Certosa estate was founded in the early 1960s by the Cosmi family in Santa Palomba near Rome and has been managed by them directly ever since. The vineyards on volcanic soils in the Agro Romano have been farmed organically from the beginning with certification following in 2004, while a pragmatic approach toward biodynamic agriculture was initiated in 2011. The cultivated grape varieties include Malvasia Puntinata, Grechetto, Trebbiano, Merlot, Montepulciano, and Syrah, yielding white, red, and bottle-fermented wines. In the cellar, the winery relies on spontaneous fermentations, minimal interventions, and primarily stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and minerality.
