About the estate
The Boutari winery was founded in 1879 by Ioannis Boutaris in Naousa, Macedonia, and looks back on a long history in winemaking. In 1906, the estate built its first private winery on site and expanded its operations over the decades to prominent regions such as Goumenissa, Santorini, Nemea, and Crete. The portfolio includes Greek grape varieties such as Moschofilero, Agiorgitiko, and Xinomavro as well as international varieties like Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. Beginning in the 1930s, the company started exporting to various international markets and developed throughout its history into an internationally recognized wine producer.
The eno directory lists 3 wines, mostly from Chardonnay and Assyrtiko. Export markets include Austria and Hungary.
