About the estate

The winery ΚΤΗΜΑ ΧΑΤΖΗΒΑΡΥΤΗΣ is located in Goumenissa in Northern Greece and was founded in 1994 when Vagelis Chatzivaritis planted his first vineyard in the Bidablas area. From the very beginning, the estate has focused on organic cultivation, gradually expanding its vineyards to cover 22 hectares across the Bidablas and Filyria regions. In 2007, a small boutique winery was built in the heart of the vineyard, producing red, white, and rosé wines including PDO Goumenissa. The cultivation centers on indigenous Greek varieties such as Xinomavro, Negoska, Roditis, Malagousia, Muscat, and Assyrtiko, alongside select international grapes. Following the return of Chloi Chatzivaritis in 2017, the estate emphasizes low-intervention winemaking with wild fermentations and natural styles, distributing its wines internationally.

The eno directory lists one wine. The estate sells to distributors. Export markets include United Kingdom, Germany, France and Belgium.
