About the estate

The Bodegas Gutierrez Colosia winery is located in El Puerto de Santa María at the mouth of the Guadalete River on the Bay of Cádiz. The historical estate dates back to 1838 with the construction of its first cellar building, which was later acquired by the Gutiérrez-Colosía family at the beginning of the twentieth century. As the only winery situated directly on the river, the estate benefits from unique humidity levels that provide ideal conditions for the biological aging of its wines under a layer of flor. Maturation is carried out using the traditional criaderas and soleras system to ensure consistent quality and style. The wines age within high, arch-studded cathedral-style cellars that expose them to the maritime climate of the region.
