About the estate

The Weingut Köpfer estate located in Staufen-Grunern looks back on a long family tradition rooted in the historical property since 1741, with viticulture documented since 1756. Under the leadership of Gerd Köpfer, the farm converted entirely to viticulture in the 1960s and has practiced organic viticulture since 1978. Today, the ninth generation already cultivates vines in the Staufener Schlossberg, Grunerner Altenberg, Kirchhofener Höllhagen, and Ballrechter Castellberg sites. The portfolio includes noble Burgundian varieties such as Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, alongside the regional specialty Gutedel. Working in harmony with nature, the estate focuses on gentle vinification without excessive human intervention to preserve the individuality of the vineyards.

The eno directory lists 28 wines, mostly from Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. The estate sells to retail.
