About the estate

The Thomas Harteneck estate cultivates its vineyards in the Markgräflerland region according to biodynamic Demeter guidelines. The focus is on living soils, biodiversity, and the use of potent natural preparations to vitalize the vines. The portfolio includes Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, as well as Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. The geological conditions range from limestone ridges to clay soils over a mineral-rich Buntsandstein foundation. In the cellar, grapes are hand-harvested and fermented spontaneously with estate yeasts before the wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered.

The eno directory lists 25 wines, mostly from Chasselas and Pinot Gris. The estate sells to horeca and retail.
