Virgilio Sandoni

About the estate

The Virgilio Sandoni winery is a family business located in the Bersagliera area of Castello di Serravalle within the municipality of Valsamoggia in Emilia-Romagna. For over fifty years, Virgilio has run the estate, and is today supported by his son Vittorio. The vineyards extend across hilly terrain between 150 and 200 meters above sea level in the Bologna hills. The farming methods include short pruning, green harvesting, minimal use of plant protection products, and a strict manual harvest. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and selected wines are aged in small oak barrels.
