About the estate

The Vinales winery is located in the hinterland of Koper within the Šmarje hills, where vineyards thrive at an altitude of around 250 meters. As a small family-run estate, the operation relies heavily on manual labor and a deep respect for the land. The portfolio focuses on indigenous grape varieties of the Slovenska Istra region, including Malvazija, Refošk, Maločrn, and Rumeni Muškat. The production ranges from fresh and mature styles to macerated and sweet wines, with selected vintages aging in used oak barrels. This approach yields balanced, expressive wines that authentically reflect their origin.
