About the estate
The Vinska klet Santomas winery is located in the village of Šmarje in the heart of the Slovenska Istra wine district. Operations encompass nearly 24 hectares of vineyards as well as olive groves, with the philosophy of owner Ludvik Nazarij Glavina based on respecting tradition and the Istrian cultural heritage. The family has dedicated itself to this agricultural heritage since the nineteenth century, combining historical practices with modern cellar technology. Regional grape varieties such as Refošk and Istrian Malvasia play a central role in the production. In addition to the vineyards, the estate features a modern winery with a tasting room, a laboratory, and an olive mill.
