About the estate
The Taverna estate was founded in the 1930s in Neive within the Piedmont region, which is one of the four villages of the Barbaresco DOCG area. The grandfather of current owner Roberto Taverna originally bought and planted the vineyards. Under the management of Ludovina Versio, the winery was among the pioneers in bottling estate wine and producing cru wines such as the 1974 vintage from the Cascina Slizza vineyard. The estate produced its first official Barbaresco vintage in 2016, and since 2019 it has vinified the majority of its own grapes with the partnership of a new winemaker.
The eno directory lists 3 wines, mostly from Nebbiolo. The estate sells to distributors.
