About the estate

The historic Stift Göttweig estate has shaped wine culture in the Austrian Kremstal region with a history dating back to 1083. Across 30 hectares of vineyards, the winery cultivates historic sites on the Göttweiger Berg such as Gottschelle, Silberbichl, and Pfaffenberg. The geological conditions, ranging from calcareous loess to barren rock, provide optimal conditions for the Grüner Veltliner and Riesling grape varieties. The climatic interplay of the Danube Valley along with pronounced diurnal temperature variations shapes the character of the wines. This results in regionally typical wines that reflect the origin of the southern Kremstal.

The eno directory lists 17 wines, mostly from Riesling and Grüner Veltliner. Export markets include Netherlands, Germany and United Kingdom.
