About the estate
The Quinta da Taboadella estate is located in the heart of the Dão region in Silvã de Cima and looks back on a historical tradition dating back to the 13th century and earlier. Owned by the Amorim family, the property encompasses a single contiguous vineyard area of 42 hectares situated on a triangular plateau with granitic soils. The vineyards are divided into numerous parcels and cultivate traditional native grape varieties such as Jaen, Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, and Tinta Pinheira, alongside later additions like Encruzado. Farming follows integrated and sustainable practices without artificial irrigation within a transitional climate protected by mountain ranges. Harvesting is done entirely by hand on a parcel-by-parcel basis between September and October, followed by vinification in a modern winery designed with natural wood and cork elements.
