About the estate

The Quinta dos Roques winery, located in the Dão region, is a third-generation family-owned estate. The vineyards cover 35 hectares of modern vines on granitic and schistous soils situated on gentle southern slopes. The estate cultivates traditional grape varieties, focusing on red varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Alfrocheiro, Tinto Cão, and Tinta Roriz, alongside white varieties including Encruzado, Malvasia Fina, Bical, Cerceal, and Gouveio. Production averages 150,000 litres annually, with red wines accounting for three quarters and white wines for one quarter of the total output. The estate exports 85 percent of its production to 15 different countries, with Canada, Japan, and the U.S.A. as the most important markets.
