About the estate
The Podere Ema estate was founded in 2001 by Enrico Calvelli in the heart of Tuscany in Bagno a Ripoli. The winery focuses on rediscovering and cultivating traditional, indigenous grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Colorino, and the rare, historical Foglia Tonda variety. The portfolio includes white and rosé wines, international grape varieties, and the classic Chianti Superiore DOCG. Part of the wines is aged in terracotta jars from Impruneta. Across a total vineyard area of twenty hectares, the estate produces characterful wines that reflect the identity of the region.
