About the estate

The history of the Perelada winery is closely linked to the Empordà region and a winemaking tradition documented at Castillo Perelada since the Middle Ages. In 1923, Miguel Mateu purchased the estate with the objective of revitalizing this tradition, which has since been carried forward by three generations of the Suqué-Mateu family. Today, the estate represents a combination of historical heritage, modern technology, and a steadfast focus on quality and innovation. Featuring a new facility designed by RCR Arquitectes, the winery is the first in Europe to achieve LEED certification for environmental and energy efficiency. Furthermore, the company dedicates significant efforts to researching local soils and vinifying distinctive regional wines.
