About the estate
The Nigl estate is located in Senftenberg in the Kremstal region, where the Nigl family has a long-standing winemaking tradition and has dedicated itself entirely to viticulture since 1990. The vineyards extend across cool, steep terraced sites from Senftenberg to Krems, characterized by primary rock weathered soils such as mica schist, granite, gneiss, and amphibolite. The core of the portfolio consists of Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, complemented by Sauvignon Blanc, Muskateller, Blauer Zweigelt, Merlot, and Pinot Noir. The vineyards are farmed sustainably, and the grape harvest often stretches over several weeks to ensure that only the ripest grapes are gathered. Situated in one of Austria's cooler wine-growing areas, the wines are defined by minerality, freshness, and finesse.
