About the estate
The family-run Weinbau Johann Walzer estate cultivates around five hectares of vineyards in Krems an der Donau in the Kremstal region. The history of the estate dates back to the seventeenth century, and the winery is today managed by Johann Walzer together with his family. The grapes thrive in sunny sites on deep humus, loess, and gravelly primary rock soils. Grüner Veltliner accounts for the main share of the vineyard area, complemented by Müller Thurgau, Rheinriesling, Scheurebe, Chardonnay, and Blauer Zweigelt. In the vineyard, the estate relies on meticulous manual labor in harmony with nature to achieve the highest possible grape quality for cellar operations.
