About the estate

The Domaine la Louviere estate is located in the small southern French village of Malviès, in the heart of the AOP Malepère appellation between Limoux and Carcassonne. Since its acquisition in 1992 by Klaus Grohe and his four sons, the property has undergone a radical transformation. The vineyards are planted on terraced gravel soils consisting of clay, sandstone, and limestone, benefiting from a unique microclimate between the Mediterranean coast and the Pyrenees mountains. The winery strictly applies organic practices in the vineyards, maintaining low yields and performing much of the work by hand. In the cellar, the team led by General Manager Jem Harris utilizes modern technology, pneumatic pressing, stainless steel tanks, and French oak barrels to produce distinctive white, rosé, and red wines.
