About the estate
The small family-run Domaine Guillemot-Michel is situated in the hamlet of Quintaine, right in the heart of the Viré-Clessé appellation within the Mâconnais region. In 1982, Pierrette Michel and Marc Guillemot took over the parental estate and bottled their first vintage in 1985, with their daughter Sophie and her husband Gautier gradually taking over management today. The estate spans 6.5 hectares of old Chardonnay vines cultivated biodynamically with a focus on maintaining living soils through mechanical maintenance and herbal preparations. In the cellar, interventions are kept to a strict minimum, relying on hand-harvested grapes, gentle pressing, natural fermentation in concrete vats, and aging on the lees. Located in southern Burgundy, the vineyards benefit from Jurassic limestone soils and a unique microclimate that shape the distinctive style of the estate's wines.
