Domaine de La Dourbie

About the estate

The Domaine de La Dourbie estate was established in 1781 at the foot of the Causse du Larzac, along the right bank of the Hérault river. Following its acquisition in 2003, the property expanded its vineyard holdings to include parcels in Aspiran and the Rouveyrolles valley, bringing the total area to 33.8 hectares across distinct terroirs. Viticulture is conducted organically on varied soils, including basaltic tuff on the slopes of an extinct volcano and high-altitude parcels influenced by the surrounding garrigue and a unique microclimate. Management practices prioritize biodiversity, cover cropping, and the preservation of the landscape to maintain soil health and local ecosystems. The estate produces wines from indigenous and forgotten grape varieties within the AOC Languedoc and Pays d'Hérault IGP denominations.
