About the estate

The BIO- Weingut Lay estate is located in Ihringen on the Kaiserstuhl in Baden and looks back on a winemaking tradition dating back to 1870. The family business is run today by Christian and Corinna Lay and has been a member of the ECOVIN association since 1990. On volcanic weathered soils in the Ihringer Fohrenberg and Winklerberg sites, the estate cultivates vineyards with varieties such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Silvaner, Muscat, and Regent. Organic management and an intact ecosystem shape the character of the expressive natural wines with their pronounced minerality.

The eno directory lists 12 wines, mostly from Riesling and Chardonnay. The estate sells to retail.
