About the estate

The Steven Schmidt winery is a organically certified small estate on the Moselle, which emerged spontaneously in the winter of 2018 from a project to preserve old, ungrafted vines. The estate cultivates a vineyard area of 1.5 hectares in renowned steep slopes such as Wolfer Sonnenlay, Wolfer Klosterberg, Bernkasteler Badstube, and Graacher Himmelreich. At the heart of the work are old vines, some of which are still traditionally cultivated using the single-stake Moselle training method. Farming is carried out exclusively through selective hand-harvesting in multiple passes and without chemical additives or industrial manufacturing processes. The goal is to produce terroir-driven, authentic Moselle wines of site-specific character in harmony with nature.
