About the estate

Family-owned for over 200 years, the Dr. Loosen estate on the Mosel has been managed by Ernst F. Loosen since 1988. The winery cultivates historic steep slopes in the Middle Mosel region featuring old, ungrafted vines rooted in slate and volcanic soils. In the cellar, the estate relies on traditional methods such as spontaneous fermentation in wooden casks and extended aging on the full lees without batonnage. A member of the VDP since 1993, the winery produces terroir-driven Rieslings that are internationally recognized as a hallmark of German Riesling culture.
