About the estate
The Weingut Josef Brachtendorf estate is a fifth-generation family-run winery located in the wine village of Alken along the Moselle. The roots of the property are deeply anchored in traditional viticulture, having evolved from early mixed agriculture. In the 1970s, the family began bottling their wines, which was followed later by the establishment of a modern press house and wine cellar. Today, the youngest generation, represented by grandson Tom Spitzley, manages the care of the vineyards and oversees all cellar operations and wine production. In addition to winemaking, the estate also encompasses an on-site wine tavern and a wine hotel.
The eno directory lists 8 wines, mostly from Riesling and Pinot Blanc. The estate sells to horeca and retail.
