About the estate

The Scholtes Detzem winery cultivates steep slate slopes along the Moselle, where the Riesling grape variety accounts for ninety percent of the production. The family manages the vineyards with a deep understanding of nature, relying on old vines and meticulous manual labor. The estate's vineyard sites include the Detzemer Maximiner Klosterlay, Pölicher Held, and Dhroner Hofberg. During vinification, fermentation is carried out exclusively with wild yeasts in stainless steel tanks or wooden barrels to produce distinctive wines. The maturation process is designed to reflect the personality of the region and the terroir in every bottle.
