About the estate

The Friedrich Kiefer KG winery in Eichstetten am Kaiserstuhl is led by Helen and Martin Schmidt and cultivates vineyards on the volcanic Kaiserstuhl with a lime-rich loess overlay. The mild climate and the terroir of the Eichstetter Herrenbuck site shape the characteristic Pinot varieties grown there. The portfolio includes white, red, and rosé wines, as well as cuvées, sparkling wines, and distillates.
