About the estate
The Blankenhorn estate is managed by Martin Männer, who took over the winery following stations in South Tyrol and New Zealand. The vineyards are located in the Markgräflerland hills in Schliengen and include classified parcels such as Sonnenstück, Roggenbach, Ölacker, Kirchberg, and Himmelberg. Grape varieties including Pinot noir, Spätburgunder, Gutedel, Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Pinot blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot thrive on limestone marl and slate soils. For vinification and marketing, the winery follows the VDP pyramid system ranging from estate and regional wines to Erste and Grosse Gewächse.
