The Tenuta I Gelsi winery was founded in 2003 by Ruggiero Potito and his family in Rionero in Vulture within the Basilicata region. The estate cultivates around ten hectares of vineyards at altitudes between 400 and 600 meters on volcanic soils. The dominant grape variety is Aglianico del Vulture, complemented by the traditional white variety Malvasia. The vineyards are distributed across various plots such as Vigneto Gelsi, Vigneto Ferrovia, and Vigneto Calaturi. The climate is characterized by low precipitation and significant temperature variations between day and night.

Vino rosso prodotto solo con le uve Aglianico del Vulture provenienti dal vigneto Calaturi, un vigneto di un ettaro di cinquant’anni circa. La raccolta viene effettuata rigorosamente a mano, generalmente a fine ottobre. Vinificato in acciaio, affina per ventiquattro mesi in botti di rovere di Slavonia da 50hl ed altri due anni di affinamento in bottiglia.

Metodo Charmat in autoclave con frequenti agitazioni favorendo la cessione di sostanze nobili da parte dei lieviti. Colore giallo paglierino con riflessi verdolini. Al naso rivela un delicato sentore di agrumi e frutta gialla.
