About the estate

The Staatskellerei Zürich dates back to 1862, when the poet Gottfried Keller laid the foundation by merging the Rheinau monastery cellar with the Zurich hospital office cellar. Since 1997, the company has belonged to Mövenpick Wein Schweiz AG and, as one of the largest wine producers in Zurich, significantly shapes regional viticulture. The estate processes grapes from numerous winegrowers throughout the canton and vinifies a diverse assortment in the historic monastery cellar in Rheinau. In doing so, the team consistently relies on close-to-nature viticulture, yield restrictions, and modern cellar technology.

The eno directory lists 23 wines, mostly from Pinot Noir and Gamaret. The estate sells to horeca and retail.
