About the estate
The Sem Igual estate has been producing Vinho Verde DOC wines in the Amarante and Sousa subregion since 1780. Representing the fourth generation of the family, João Camizão released the first vintage in 2012. Spanning ten hectares of vineyards on granite and gravel soils at elevations of 200 to 300 meters, the vines range from four to over 90 years of age. The winery cultivates white grape varieties such as Arinto and Azal alongside red varieties including Touriga-Nacional, Baga, and Vinhão. As the estate transitions to organic farming, it focuses on crafting non-fizzy, full-bodied, and dry wines characterized by high acidity and aging potential.
The eno directory lists 12 wines, mostly from Arinto and Azal.
