About the estate

The Quinta de Baixo - Vinhos da Bairrada, Lda estate is located in Cordinhã within the Bairrada region and encompasses 22 hectares of vineyards. The vines grow on clay-limestone soils across the area spanning Cordinhã, Ourentã and Cantanhede. The winery focuses primarily on the Baga grape variety alongside traditional varieties such as Maria Gomes, Arinto, Bical and Cercial. The layout of the winery on a hillside allows the winemaking process to be conducted by gravity. In 2012, Niepoort took over the management of the vineyards and the winery facility.
