Madrevite

About the estate

The Madrevite estate is located in Castiglione del Lago in the Italian region of Umbria within the Colli del Trasimeno denomination. The winery was founded in 2003 by Nicola Chiucchiurlotto, who restored the family farm and replanted old vineyards originally established by his grandfather. Across a total of eleven hectares of vineyards, the estate cultivates regional grape varieties such as Gamay del Trasimeno, Grechetto, Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and Syrah. Agricultural practices focus on sustainability and environmental balance to preserve soil fertility and biodiversity. In the cellar, vinification relies on spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in traditional concrete vats, large wooden casks, and French oak barriques.
