About the estate
The Les Deplaudes de Tartaras estate cultivates eight hectares of vines within the Collines Rhodaniennes IGP denomination. The history of the winery began in 2003 through a transition from dairy farming to viticulture, with the ambition of restoring winegrowing to the slopes of the Vallée du Gier. The bedrock of the Coteaux du Gier consists of schist and micaschist, which imparts a distinctive minerality to the estate's wines. Emphasizing diversity, the winery cultivates a wide range of grape varieties, including native autochthonous varieties such as Mornen noir and Chouchillon. Vineyard management strictly follows the practices of organic farming and biodynamics.
