About the estate
The small family estate Le Grand Clos manages seven hectares of vineyards in Satigny in the Geneva region under the AOC Genève designation. The winery cultivates seventeen grape varieties and produces a wide range of wines. Jean-Michel Novelle completely restructured the vineyard by preserving old Gamay and Pinot Noir vines while introducing numerous new varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Petite Arvine, and Syrah. Vineyard management avoids chemical fertilizers and residual herbicides entirely to promote biodiversity and plant balance. The entire harvest is gathered by hand, followed by vinification at the estate with extended aging on fine lees.
