About the estate
The La Tour de Gâtigne estate is located in Saint-Chaptes within the Gard department and looks back on a long history dating back to 1212 when the Templars established a commandery. Since 1835, the historic property has been owned by the Guibal family, who now manage, vinify, and market their wines in the fourth generation. The vineyard covers 103 hectares on the silicious-clay terraces of the Gardon river, benefiting from a typical Mediterranean terroir with southern exposure. Completely replanted with noble grape varieties in the 1980s, the vineyard produces wines under the AOC Duché d'Uzès, IGP Cévennes, and IGP Gard designations. The cultivated varieties include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Viognier, among others.
The eno directory lists 6 wines, mostly from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
