About the estate
The origins of winemaking at Kloster Fahr Weinbau date back reliably to the 12th century, while the associated Einsiedeln Abbey was founded in 934. In 2020, the winemaking traditions of the two Benedictine communities were brought together. Across a total of 13 hectares of vineyard land, the estate cultivates plots in Leutschen and on Ufnau Island under the AOC Lake Zurich denomination, as well as in Weiningen and Unterengstringen under the AOC Zurich denomination. The grapes are pressed, processed, fermented, and aged in the Einsiedeln monastery cellar. Manual work in the vineyards and craftsmanship in the cellar characterize the team's approach.
The eno directory lists 2 wines, mostly from Räuschling. The estate sells to horeca and retail.
